Aero Dili of East Timor begins new flights to Singapore and Surabaya

Bringing East Timor and Beyond Together

The 2017-founded airline offered a variety of domestic flights within East Timor (Timor Leste) before receiving its air operators certificate in 2018. With its aim to "Build the Nation," the airline's recent purchase of an Airbus A320 has transformed it into an international carrier. After many verification flights and crew training, the airline inaugurated its maiden international service to Bali in May after receiving its A320 in March.

The inaugural flight to Bali had only 36 passengers, as reported earlier by Simple Flying, and it is unknown whether the routes are currently loaded or profitable. It is envisaged that the Asian carrier will benefit from the expanded services to Surabaya and Singapore.

The small airline with the potential. After only beginning direct flights on May 13 between Dili and Bali Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), East Timor's Aero Dili (8G - Aero Dili Transport Service SA) is now looking to expand its network by shortly flying to Singapore and Surabaya (Indonesia). There is no information on whether the airline will change its daily service between Dili and Denpasar to suit its new destinations.

Surabaya will be connected once per week, with a service departing from Dili at 07:10 and arriving in Surabaya at 07:20 (a two-hour, ten-minute flight). Returning passengers will board the flight at 08:00 and touch down in Dili at 12:05 local time the same day. Singapore, the airline's other brand-new location, will have three weekly connections. However, more information is still pending.
